A 25-metre outdoor pool on Mount Street with two toddler pools, shaded areas and an assisted-access lift. Owned by Upper Hunter Shire Council, it offers public swimming, learn-to-swim classes and squad training over the summer season.

Located on Mayne Street, Murrurundi Bowling Club offers synthetic greens for lawn bowls beneath the Liverpool Range. The club has a bar and hosts a restaurant on site, and runs regular social bowls, raffles and functions such as weddings and trivia nights.

Murrurundi Cricket Club fields a team in the Upper Hunter District Cricket Association summer competition, playing at Wilson Memorial Park on Mayne Street.

A 9-hole sand-greens course on Paradise Road on the edge of town, and a member club of the Hunter River District Golf Association. The club welcomes visiting golfers year-round.

Nicknamed the Mavericks (men's) and Mavettes (women's), Murrurundi's rugby league club competes in the Bengalla Hunter Valley Group 21 competition alongside clubs from across the Upper Hunter. The club has a long history in the district, and plays home games at Wilson Memorial Oval.

Tennis courts located within Wilson Memorial Park on Mayne Street. The courts have had council and NSW Sport and Recreation grant funding over the years — check with the Murrurundi Visitor Information Centre for current social play or competition details.

A showground-style equestrian complex on the edge of town that hosts the annual Murrurundi Rodeo and Campdraft, and the King of the Ranges Stockman's Challenge and Bush Festival — a three-day stockman skills event held each September.

Murrurundi's central sporting precinct on Mayne Street, encompassing Wilson Memorial Oval plus tennis and basketball courts. It's the home ground of the rugby league club and hosts cricket in summer, with parking, restrooms and a playground for spectators and families.
